Health care service plans and health insurers offering qualified health plans through Covered California must annually report segregated abortion services accounts starting July 1, 2023.

Annual reports must include the ending balance of segregated accounts and total dollar amount of claims paid during the reporting year, as required under federal law.

Reports submitted to the Department of Managed Health Care director (for health care service plans) and Department of Insurance commissioner (for health insurers).

No state reimbursement required for local agencies or school districts because costs result from changes to criminal penalties under existing law.
