Requires skilled nursing facilities to maintain an alternative source of power to protect resident health and safety for at least 96 hours during any power outage.

Defines "alternative source of power" as onsite-generated or stored electricity from generators, large capacity batteries, renewable electrical generation facilities, or combinations thereof.

Facilities using generators must maintain sufficient fuel onsite for 96 hours of operation or arrange emergency fuel delivery with no delays.

Facilities using batteries or battery-renewable combinations must have capacity for 96 hours of operation and arrange generator and fuel delivery if power is not restored within that timeframe.

Requires full compliance with these provisions by January 1, 2024.
