Prohibits law enforcement officers from using threats, physical harm, deception, or psychologically manipulative interrogation tactics during custodial interrogations of persons 17 years of age or younger, effective July 1, 2024.

Defines prohibited "deception" as false statements about evidence, misrepresenting facts, or false statements regarding leniency.

Defines prohibited "psychologically manipulative interrogation tactics" including maximization/minimization techniques, promises of leniency, and false choice strategies.

Requires probation officers to notify the public defender or indigent defense provider no later than 2 hours after a minor is taken into custody.

Exempts interrogations seeking information necessary to protect life or property from imminent threats, provided questions are limited to those reasonably necessary to obtain such information.
