Each county must establish an interagency child death review team by January 1, 2025 to identify and review suspicious child deaths and facilitate communication among autopsy personnel and child abuse/neglect agencies.

Each county must develop or adopt an autopsy protocol by January 1, 2025 to guide coroners and medical examiners in identifying child abuse or neglect as a cause or contributing factor of death.

Child death review teams must publish annual reports by July 1 each year on the county website containing findings, conclusions, recommendations, and aggregate statistical data on child deaths, while protecting the identity of deceased children and their siblings.

The Attorney General must complete and publish a statewide child death review protocol on their website and update it every 4 years by January 1, without funding restrictions.

The Attorney General must submit an annual budget to the Governor and Legislature sufficient to fund the California State Child Death Review Council and implement statewide child death review requirements.
