Requires mixed-income multifamily structures with five or more units to provide occupants of affordable housing units the same access to common entrances, common areas, and amenities as occupants of market-rate housing units.

Prohibits mixed-income multifamily structures from isolating affordable housing units to a specific floor or area within a specific floor.

Defines key terms including "affordable housing unit" (deed-restricted for low or moderate income), "market-rate housing unit" (non-affordable units excluding on-site management), and "mixed-income multifamily structure" (5+ units with both affordable and market-rate units).

States the law is declaratory of existing law and does not limit application of existing fair housing and land use regulations.

Approved by Governor September 28, 2021; imposes state-mandated local program with reimbursement available if Commission on State Mandates determines additional costs are incurred beyond those related to crime definitions.
