Requires county offices of education, school districts, and charter schools to provide detailed information about school facilities to the State Department of Education beginning with the 2023-24 school year, including addresses, construction dates, square footage, modernization history, pupil capacity, and portable building inventory.

Mandates reporting of whether schools have cafeterias, libraries, gymnasiums, multipurpose rooms, water wells, generators, and redundant emergency communications systems.

Requires local educational agencies to report the status of school facilities to the department when a natural disaster occurs.

Makes all facility information submitted to the department confidential and exempt from public disclosure under the California Public Records Act, but authorizes the department to share information with emergency personnel and other governmental agencies for emergency preparedness and response activities.

Establishes that if the Commission on State Mandates determines the bill imposes state-mandated costs, reimbursement shall be made according to existing statutory procedures.
