State Department of Education must post information on safe return to exercise and physical activity for pupils after COVID-19 infection or exposure, including American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines on preparticipation screening and gradual return-to-play protocols based on symptom severity.

Department must include guidelines requiring medical clearance from a licensed healthcare provider before pupils return to exercise and physical activity after COVID-19, with protocols differentiated by symptom severity (mild, moderate, or severe).

Department shall monitor evolving best practices and guidelines on safe return to physical activity and update website information accordingly in response to new medical guidance.

Schools and districts are encouraged to provide ready access to posted information by posting on their websites and actively distributing via mail, email, newsletters, meetings, registration packets, and in-person communication.

Provisions become inoperative on July 1, 2024, and are repealed effective January 1, 2025; bill takes effect immediately as an urgency statute.
