Notes historical aerospace achievements in the valley, including Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier on October 14, 1947, and the first land vehicle breaking the sound barrier via unmanned rocket sled on January 12, 1948.

Identifies major aerospace companies headquartered or operating in the region, including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and BAE Systems, which have developed aircraft and spacecraft such as the Space Shuttle orbiters, B-2 Spirit, F-117 Nighthawk, and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
