Designates May 2022 as California Fairgrounds Appreciation Month to honor the 76 state fairgrounds operating throughout California.

Extends the Legislature's warmest regards and appreciation to volunteers, fair directors, staff, business supporters, and sponsors who operate and maintain California's fairground network.

Recognizes that California fairgrounds attract millions of visitors annually and generate hundreds of millions of dollars for nonprofits, youth organizations, cities, counties, small businesses, and the state's General Fund.

Acknowledges that state fairgrounds provided essential services during COVID-19 and wildfires by operating as medical sites, staging areas for emergency equipment and personnel, and evacuation centers for wildfire-displaced residents.

Affirms that California's fairgrounds serve as recreational, social, and economic hubs for their respective communities with facilities designed for animals, pets, and livestock.
