Recognizes and celebrates the 30th anniversary of California's Charter Schools Act of 1992, which authorized the establishment of independently operated public schools.

Notes that charter schools serve approximately 700,000 pupils across nearly 1,300 schools in California during the 2021-22 school year, with 56 percent low-income students, 53 percent Latino, and 15 percent English learners.

Affirms that charter schools are non-profit, free, public schools open to all students regardless of academic performance, disability, religion, income, race, or sexual orientation.

Acknowledges that 78 percent of Californians support parental choice to select charter schools and credits charter schools with supporting equity and serving high concentrations of students in poverty and students of color.

Directs the Assembly Chief Clerk to distribute copies of this resolution to the author.
