CA SB1023

Requires the California Health Workforce Education and Training Council to prepare and submit a report to the Legislature on findings and recommendations related to health workforce education and training.

Council report must address promoting enrollment of Californians from geographically and culturally diverse communities into medical schools, preparing students from low-income communities, expanding health personnel in low-income areas, and improving quality and safety of health care delivery.

Council must host a public comment period before submitting the report, post the report on the Department of Health Care Access and Information website, and hold online informational hearings about findings and recommendations.

Report requirement becomes inoperative on January 1, 2027, and must comply with Government Code Section 9795.
