CA SB1029

Requires the State Department of Public Health, Department of Food and Agriculture, and Department of Fish and Wildlife to jointly establish and administer the One Health Program to coordinate responses to zoonotic diseases and reduce health hazards.

Mandates the three departments develop a framework in consultation with stakeholders including the CDC, Medical Board of California, Veterinary Medical Board, university agricultural programs, animal welfare organizations, and community-based organizations.

Requires the departments to establish goals, identify necessary activities, recommend legislation, and periodically post joint reports on their websites and submit them to the Legislative Analyst's Office.

Directs the Legislative Analyst's Office to submit a report to relevant legislative committees assessing the framework's reasonableness and recommending oversight methods for the program's implementation.

Implementation is contingent upon legislative appropriation of funds for the One Health Program.
