CA SB1035

Authorizes courts to conduct status hearings with individuals and their treatment teams to receive information about progress related to treatment categories and medication adherence during assisted outpatient treatment orders.

Requires the director of the outpatient treatment program to report to the court on medication adherence when filing affidavits affirming that individuals continue to meet criteria for assisted outpatient treatment (required at intervals of not less than 60 days).

Applies to Laura's Law (Assisted Outpatient Treatment Demonstration Project Act of 2002) and modifies existing procedures for court-ordered assisted outpatient mental health treatment.

Effective July 1, 2021.
