Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment must prepare and publish a public health goal for manganese by July 1, 2025

State Water Resources Control Board must adopt a primary drinking water standard for manganese after OEHHA publishes the public health goal

State board must establish monitoring requirements for manganese including routine distribution system monitoring, post-flushing monitoring, and monitoring for discolored water before and after the primary standard adoption

State board must consider establishing a notification and response level for manganese by January 31, 2024 to remain in effect until the primary drinking water standard is adopted

State board may continue funding treatment, source protection, and alternative water supplies for manganese, and may require community water systems to monitor manganese in source and distribution water before the standard is adopted
