CA SB1171

Adds exception to hearsay rule for statements made by domestic violence victims describing acts or attempted acts of domestic violence made for purposes of medical diagnosis or treatment.

Requires domestic violence victim's consent before such statements can be used in prosecution.

Mandates prosecutors disclose the existence of any such statement and their intent to use it to the defense at least 30 days before any proceeding where admission is sought.

Limits this exception to criminal cases only.

Makes technical clarification to existing exception for child abuse statements by replacing "the age of" with "years of age" for victims under 12.
