CA SB291

Increases the Advisory Commission on Special Education membership from 17 to 19 members.

Requires the commission to appoint 2 pupils with exceptional needs, ages 16 to 22 years old, as members.

Pupil members serve one-year terms with the option to serve a second consecutive one-year term.

Maintains existing requirements that a majority of commission members be individuals with disabilities or parents of children with disabilities.
