Amends Penal Code Section 148.1 to make it a crime to maliciously inform another person that unlawful killing or unlawful great bodily injury will occur at any public or private place by means of a mass shooting, mass stabbing, bombing, or any other unlawful act, knowing the information is false.

Violation is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.

Expands existing law that previously only criminalized false reports of bombs or explosives to include false reports of mass violence.

Specifies that no state reimbursement is required for local agencies or school districts implementing this provision.
