CA SB576

Creates a new exception allowing cities, counties, or city and counties to increase gambling tables by up to 2 tables per calendar year, with a maximum of 10 additional tables above the number authorized on January 1, 2022, beginning January 1, 2022.

Allows jurisdictional limits to be expanded to accommodate the increase in gaming tables authorized by this bill.

Extends the moratorium on new gambling authorizations from January 1, 2023 to January 1, 2028 for jurisdictions that had not authorized legal gaming before January 1, 1996.

Extends the prohibition on issuing gambling licenses for establishments not operating by December 31, 1999 from January 1, 2023 to January 1, 2028.

Requires the state Department of Justice to review gambling ordinances before adoption and enforces the Gambling Control Act.
