CA SB633

Requires creditors obtaining signatures on consumer credit contracts to deliver cosigner notices to all persons who don't receive the money, property, or services, regardless of marital status (previously exempted married couples).

Expands required notice translations from English and Spanish to include all languages specified in California Civil Code Section 1632(b).

Mandates the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation to provide downloadable translations of cosigner notices on its website by January 1, 2023, and for any additional languages added to state law in the future.

Requires cosigner notices to be provided only on a separate sheet that precedes the contract and contains no other text except creditor/lessor identification and receipt acknowledgment.

Allows use of federally-sanctioned notices that are substantially similar to those required by state law, provided they include accurate translations in all required languages.
