CA SB809

Authorizes cities or counties to partially satisfy residential zoning requirements through multijurisdictional regional agreements involving 2 or more cities/counties within the same or adjacent counties.

Requires multijurisdictional regional agreements to clearly identify which jurisdiction contributes suitable land for residential development and which jurisdiction(s) contribute funding.

Limits any single jurisdiction to receiving credit for no more than one-half of the development capacity created by the agreement toward its housing needs.

Prohibits participating jurisdictions from claiming aggregate capacity greater than the actual capacity created by the housing development subject to the agreement.

Repeals this section on January 1, 2030, and applies to all cities including charter cities as a matter of statewide concern.
