CA SB841

Establishes the Sexually Violent Predator Accountability, Fairness, and Enforcement Act requiring the State Department of State Hospitals to verify placement locations with county executive officers before placing sexually violent predators in specific supervisorial districts.

Requires the Director of State Hospitals to prepare and publicly post an annual report by March 15 each year detailing the number of sexually violent predators under department supervision and their specific county and supervisorial district locations.

Mandates that the Director ensure department vendors prioritize public safety as the overriding consideration in placement decisions and approve all potential placements before leases or rental agreements are signed.

Requires the Directors of State Hospitals, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to report to the Governor and Legislature by December 31, 2022 on available trailers and suitable placement quarters at their properties for sexually violent predators.

Takes effect immediately as an urgency statute.
