CA SB915

Prohibits state officers, employees, operators, lessees, or licensees from contracting for, authorizing, or allowing the sale of firearms, firearm precursor parts, or ammunition on state property or in state buildings, effective January 1, 2023.

Exempts gun buyback events held by law enforcement agencies, sales by public administrators/conservators/guardians in the course of duties, and purchases by law enforcement agencies for regular duties.

Exempts firearm sales on state property that occur pursuant to contracts entered into before January 1, 2023, and sales or purchases pursuant to the Public Contract Code.

Violation of the prohibition constitutes a crime, creating a state-mandated local program.

Specifies that no state reimbursement is required for local agency or school district costs resulting from this act.
