Proclaims June 19, 2022, as Veterans of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Day in California

Honors the South Vietnamese Armed Forces (formally established December 30, 1955), which consisted of four branches: Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Division

Recognizes the sacrifice of over 250,000 South Vietnamese Armed Forces members and more than 58,000 U.S. Armed Forces members who died in the Vietnam War, plus over 300,000 U.S. and 1,000,000 South Vietnamese service members who were injured

Acknowledges that over 250,000 South Vietnamese military personnel were imprisoned in camps after the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, with more than 20,000 dying in captivity

Notes that more than 100,000 veterans from the Republic of Vietnam now reside in California and have contributed to American society after fleeing Vietnam to escape authoritarian rule
