Notes over 50 percent of California vineyards are certified through programs including Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing, Fish Friendly Farming, Lodi Rules, Napa Green, or SIP Certified.

Highlights the California Code of Sustainable Winegrowing, created in 2001 by Wine Institute and California Association of Winegrape Growers, contains over 200 best practices adopted by the vast majority of state vineyards and wineries.
