Recognizes and pays tribute to the dedication and professionalism of California's state scientists who serve all residents of the state.

Acknowledges that California employs nearly 3,000 professional scientists across over 30 state departments in more than 81 scientific classifications, holding graduate degrees in disciplines including biology, virology, seismology, and epidemiology.

Highlights state scientists' critical roles in infectious disease prevention, oil spill response, public health monitoring, agricultural protection, and chemical/radiological disaster response.

Credits the California Association of Professional Scientists (CAPS) and its members for serving on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting STEM education through regional science fairs, and sponsoring annual State Scientist Day at the Capitol.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
