Urges the National Archives and Records Administration to destroy FBI surveillance tapes obtained on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., which the resolution characterizes as immorally obtained.

Documents FBI monitoring of Dr. King from December 1955 through his death in April 1968, including phone taps, bugged hotel rooms, and infiltration of his inner circle.

References a November 21, 1964 FBI letter encouraging Dr. King to commit suicide and FBI interpretation of his 1967 Vietnam War criticism as evidence of communist influence.

Urges Congress and President Joseph R. Biden to work together to prevent similar abuses of power conducted for immoral and defamatory reasons.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies to the President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, Senate Majority Leader, California members of Congress, and the Archivist of the United States.
