Designates June 3, 2022 (the first Friday in June) as National Gun Violence Awareness Day to honor victims of gun violence and recognize what would have been Hadiya Pendleton's 25th birthday.

Encourages citizens to wear orange on June 3, 2022, as a symbol of the value of human life, inspired by Hadiya Pendleton's friends who chose orange because hunters wear it to announce themselves in the woods.

Notes that more than 110 Americans are killed by gun violence daily, with nearly 16,000 gun homicides annually, and Americans are 26 times more likely to die by gun homicide than people in other high-income countries.

States that California experiences 3,160 gun deaths annually with a rate of 7.8 deaths per 100,000 people, ranking 45th highest among U.S. states.

Urges commitment to reducing gun violence while supporting responsible gun ownership and keeping firearms away from people prohibited from possessing them.
