State Department of Education must develop and post a model policy and resources about body shaming on its website by June 30, 2025, in consultation with the California Health and Human Services Agency, Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission, and other stakeholders

Resources must be appropriate for schools serving kindergarten through grade 12 and may be used by local educational agencies to educate staff and pupils about body shaming

State Department may use existing resources or frameworks about body shaming or body image to fulfill these requirements

Local educational agencies are encouraged to inform teachers, staff, parents, and pupils about the resources through pupil and employee handbooks and school websites

"Body shaming" is defined as mocking or stigmatizing a person through critical comments about their body's shape, size, or appearance
