Commission on Teacher Credentialing must convene a workgroup on computer science credentialing by July 1, 2024, contingent upon legislative appropriation.

Workgroup must determine which single subject or designated subjects career technical education teaching credentials should authorize computer science instruction and whether a separate computer science credential should be established.

At least half of the workgroup must consist of current secondary-level computer science teachers, with additional representatives from school administration, higher education institutions, and computer science education experts.

Commission must submit a report of the workgroup's findings and recommendations to the Legislature by July 1, 2025.

Section repeals automatically on January 1, 2028.
