Requires the Instructional Quality Commission to consider including instruction on the historical, social, economic, and political contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in the United States when the history-social science curriculum framework is next revised on or after January 1, 2024.

Mandates consideration of examples of racism, discrimination, and violence perpetrated against Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in the United States in the curriculum framework, including hate crimes committed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applies to the curriculum framework, related evaluation criteria, and accompanying instructional materials used in California schools.

Approved by the Governor on September 1, 2023, and filed with the Secretary of State on the same date.
