Director of Motor Vehicles may establish a program to evaluate virtual or remote driver's license renewal processes until January 1, 2035, as an alternative to in-person renewal at DMV offices.

Remote renewal is prohibited for applicants age 70 or older unless they complete an eyesight test, and is not allowed for applicants age 80 or older.

Department cannot renew a license remotely if it has already been renewed by mail or remotely for two consecutive 5-year periods.

Director may terminate the remote renewal program at any time.

Department must submit a report to the Legislature by January 1, 2034, including information on security measures to prevent fraud, participation numbers, and eyesight test verification processes.
