Amends Section 1816 of the Family Code to require training for evaluators in family conciliation court proceedings to include instruction on risks associated with firearm access and ways to reduce those risks.

Adds firearm risk assessment to the list of topics required in the 12 hours of advanced training on unique issues in family and psychological assessment in domestic violence cases.

Applies to supervising or associate counselors, mediators, child custody evaluators, and court-appointed investigators or evaluators in family court proceedings.

Requires eligible training providers to comply with quality standards and deliver instruction from experts or those meeting the same training requirements.

Approved by Governor on September 20, 2024, and became effective immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.
