Requires the Public Utilities Commission to conduct a feasibility study on the use of small modular reactors for energy generation in California.

Study must evaluate the benefits of small modular reactors compared to other renewable resources, including impacts on reliability, affordability, employment, decarbonization, socioeconomics, environmental justice, and public safety.

Study must include an evaluation of solutions for spent fuel from small modular reactors.

Defines "small modular reactor" as a nuclear reactor with an electrical generating capacity of up to 300 megawatts per unit.

Requires the Public Utilities Commission to submit a report to the Legislature by January 1, 2027, with the statute repealing on January 1, 2031.
