AB 2270 Summary

• Requires the Medical Board of California, Board of Registered Nursing, Board of Psychology, Physician Assistant Board, and Board of Behavioral Sciences to consider including courses in menopausal mental or physical health when determining continuing education requirements for their respective licensees.

• Adds a new section requiring the Board of Psychology to consider including a course in menopausal mental health in its continuing professional development standards.

• Directs multiple healing arts boards (Physician Assistant Board, Board of Behavioral Sciences divisions) to also consider including courses in maternal mental health in their continuing education requirements, contingent on other bills' enactment.

• Includes conditional provisions coordinating with Senate Bill 639, Senate Bill 1526, and Assembly Bill 2581 to avoid conflicting amendments to the same code sections, with operative provisions determined by which bills are enacted last.

• Effective September 27, 2024.
