Establishes the California Pilot Paid Internship Program with $12,000,000 appropriated from the General Fund to support paid internships for high school pupils in engineering, health care, mathematics, manufacturing, science, teaching, and technology.

Provides grants to school districts, charter schools, and county offices of education to support up to 5,000 rising grade 12 pupils per year in 8-week internship programs offering up to 40 hours of work per week.

Requires participating pupils to receive an hourly wage of $15, with grant funds covering $7.50 and employers providing $7.50 in matching funds.

Mandates grant recipients report pupil internship data annually to the Superintendent of Public Instruction, including number of internships, total hours worked, and employers involved.

Makes funds available for expenditure from fiscal year 2024–25 through 2026–27 and requires an independent program evaluation and legislative report by January 1, 2028.
