Increases maximum duration of protective orders issued upon domestic violence conviction from 10 years to 15 years, with length determined by court based on offense severity, probability of future violations, and victim safety.

Allows courts to modify or terminate protective orders upon written petition by prosecuting attorney, defendant, or victim for good cause, provided all parties receive at least 15 days' notice before hearing.

Incorporates alternative amendments if Assembly Bill 2907 is also enacted and becomes effective before January 1, 2025, with AB 2907 provisions applied if AB 2308 is enacted after AB 2907.

Specifies no state reimbursement to local agencies is required under Article XIII B of the California Constitution because any costs result from changes to crime penalties and definitions.
