Extends indefinitely the exception allowing federally certified critical access hospitals to employ licensed physicians and charge for their professional services, removing the January 1, 2024 expiration date.

Requires critical access hospitals to obtain affirmative medical staff approval that the licensee's employment serves the best interest of the communities served by the hospital.

Prohibits critical access hospitals from interfering with, controlling, or directing a physician's professional judgment in violation of state law.

Deletes inoperative reporting requirements that were no longer applicable.
