Requires the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) to develop guidelines addressing wandering associated with Alzheimer's disease, autism, and dementia by January 1, 2026, in consultation with subject matter experts.

Guidelines must include development of law enforcement investigational checklists and protocols for deploying law enforcement resources such as search and rescue dogs.

Requires guidelines to address community awareness campaigns for wandering prevention and water safety, and technological solutions including wandering prevention devices, proactive registries, and community alert systems.

Mandates coordination and communication protocols between law enforcement agencies, other local law enforcement, first responders, 911 dispatch, hospitals, and transportation systems.

Approved by Governor on September 21, 2024, with no fiscal appropriation required.
