Revives claims for damages from childhood sexual assault by employees of county-owned juvenile probation camps or detention facilities that would otherwise be barred by statute of limitations as of January 1, 2025, allowing actions to be commenced by December 31, 2025.

Does not revive claims that have been litigated to finality or compromised by written settlement agreement before January 1, 2025.

Exempts these revived sexual assault claims from Government Code Sections 844.6 and 854.8, which generally limit public entity liability for injuries caused by prisoners or patients of mental institutions.

Applies retroactively to any action commenced after enactment and to any action filed before enactment that remains pending, including actions that would have been barred under previous law.
