Requires California State University and California Community College campuses to provide status updates on sex discrimination complaints (including sexual harassment) every 30 days to complainants and respondents upon request, to the extent permitted by law

Allows complainants and respondents to opt out of receiving the status updates

Requires California State University and California Community College campuses to notify both the respondent and complainant within 5 business days of any disciplinary action decision resulting from a sex discrimination complaint

Requests (but does not require) University of California campuses to comply with the same notification and update requirements

Provides that if the Commission on State Mandates determines this bill creates state-mandated costs, reimbursement to local agencies shall be made pursuant to applicable state law
