School districts, county offices of education, and charter schools cannot prohibit pupils aged 12 or older from carrying or administering naloxone hydrochloride or other federally-approved over-the-counter opioid antagonists while on school sites or during school activities

Pupils aged 12 or older are protected from civil liability and criminal prosecution when administering opioid antagonists in good faith for emergency treatment, except in cases of gross negligence or willful and wanton misconduct

School districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and their employees cannot face professional review, civil liability, or criminal prosecution for pupils' administration of opioid antagonists, except for their own gross negligence or willful and wanton misconduct

Eligible medications include naloxone hydrochloride nasal spray and any other opioid overdose reversal medication that is federally approved for over-the-counter, nonprescription use
