California State University and University of California campuses cannot charge mandatory systemwide tuition or fees to students who completed at least one year of service in the California Conservation Corps within two years of joining and within four years of enrolling in an undergraduate program.

Eligible students must maintain full-time undergraduate enrollment, meet minimum grade point average requirements, maintain good academic and behavioral standing, and be of low or moderate income.

Tuition and fee waivers are limited to the equivalent of two years of undergraduate attendance and apply only to California residents.

Students must request waivers through their institution's registrar office and provide verification from the California Conservation Corps of their service.

Institutions may require students to apply for federal, state, and institution-based financial aid first, then waive any remaining systemwide tuition or fees; University of California provisions apply only if the Regents approve by resolution.
