County elections officials may establish and require the use of standardized petition forms for distribution and submission within their county for initiatives, referendums, recalls, nominating petitions, and other voter-signed documents.

Candidates for nonpartisan elective office in local agencies may prepare candidate statements for electronic distribution if the elections official or county elections official conducting the election permits it, rather than requiring governing body authorization.

Candidate statements prepared for electronic distribution must be posted on the elections official's website and may be included in electronically distributed voter pamphlets, but not in printed and mailed voter pamphlets.

Electronic candidate statements must be displayed in uniform type size, darkness, and spacing, with Spanish translations provided by qualified translators upon candidate request, consistent with printed statement requirements.
