Establishes the Fentanyl Misuse and Overdose Prevention Task Force, cochaired by the Attorney General and State Public Health Officer, to address fentanyl misuse in California.

Task force duties include collecting data on fentanyl misuse, evaluating prevention and treatment efforts, assessing sources of legal and illicit fentanyl, and recommending policy changes and treatment protocols.

Membership comprises 21 representatives from state agencies, legislature, judiciary, law enforcement, medical associations, local government, and community organizations serving people with substance use disorders.

Requires first meeting by June 1, 2024, with subsequent meetings at least every two months; interim report due July 1, 2025, and final report due December 1, 2025.

Task force automatically repeals on January 1, 2026, and implementation requires legislative appropriation.
