The regional transportation plan, sustainable communities strategy, and environmental impact report adopted by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) on November 18, 2019, remains in effect until SACOG adopts its next update by December 31, 2025.

SACOG's update must include development of an equity-centered, community cocreated infrastructure project development process using a federal Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant, with descriptions of equity efforts and performance outcomes in disadvantaged communities.

Until December 31, 2025, projects in SACOG's region nominated for Solutions for Congested Corridors Program funding must also meet eligibility requirements of the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program, Low Carbon Transit Operations Program, or Active Transportation Program.

Beginning July 1, 2026, and biennially thereafter, SACOG must publicly report on its website regarding regional implementation of its sustainable communities strategy, including comparisons of planned versus actual housing development and transportation project status.

After the 2025 update, SACOG shall adopt subsequent regional transportation plan updates every four years, with the next update due by November 15, 2027.
