Extends firearm prohibition for protective orders issued on or after July 1, 2024, to 3 years after order expiration (previously prohibition ended when order expired).

Requires courts to impose maximum fines allowed under law if person willfully violates the 3-year post-expiration firearm prohibition.

Expands search warrant grounds to include any person subject to civil or criminal protective orders with firearm prohibitions who fails to relinquish weapons as required.

Requires protective orders to state on their face that firearm and ammunition prohibitions extend 3 years after order expiration for orders issued on or after July 1, 2024.

Creates new crimes and penalties under Penal Code Section 29825 for owning, possessing, purchasing, or receiving firearms within 3 years after expiration of qualifying protective orders issued on or after July 1, 2024.
