Prohibits stopping, standing, or parking a vehicle within 20 feet of the vehicle approach side of any marked or unmarked crosswalk, or within 15 feet of any crosswalk where a curb extension is present.

Allows local authorities to establish a different distance by ordinance if justified by traffic safety standards and marked with paint or signs.

Permits local authorities to allow commercial vehicle loading/unloading and bicycle or motorized scooter parking within these restricted areas if marked and authorized by ordinance.

Prior to January 1, 2025, jurisdictions may only issue warnings for violations unless the violation occurs in an area marked using paint or a sign; citations are prohibited for unmarked violations during this period.

Requires state reimbursement to local agencies and school districts for any costs mandated by the state, as determined by the Commission on State Mandates.
