Establishes a new Penal Code Section 1204.1 allowing courts to impose up to 5 years of probation for environmental crimes (previously limited to 1-2 years under existing law).

Applies only to entities with more than 10 employees, including trusts, partnerships, corporations, and other legal entities.

Defines environmental crimes as violations in specified statutes covering Fish and Game Code, pesticide regulations, oil spills, waste management, animal cruelty, and water pollution across multiple code sections.

Approved by the Governor on September 30, 2023, and became Chapter 264.

Includes exemption from state reimbursement requirements under the California Constitution because it modifies penalties for existing crimes.
