Within 60 days after a local continuum of care releases point-in-time count results, cities, counties, and city and counties must agendize those results at a public meeting.

Local jurisdictions must designate staff to present the point-in-time count results if the continuum of care cannot present them.

At the meeting or a subsequent meeting, jurisdictions must present steps they are taking to prevent and end homelessness, including consideration of affordable housing development, zoning changes, eviction protections, inter-jurisdictional coordination, and hygiene services.

The bill applies to all cities, including charter cities, as it addresses a statewide concern rather than a municipal affair.

If the Commission on State Mandates determines the bill imposes state-mandated costs, reimbursement shall be made pursuant to existing statutory procedures.
