Elections officials must post updated election information on their website at least once per week beginning no later than the Thursday following an election until a certified statement of results is published.

Weekly updates must include current candidate and measure results, number of ballots processed, estimated unprocessed ballots by category (polling place, mail-in, provisional, conditional registration), and expected date/time of next update.

Elections officials may stop posting weekly updates once either a certified statement of results is published or only signature-cure vote-by-mail ballots remain to be counted.

Secretary of State must include a notation when transmitting election certificates or results for State Assembly or Senate races if the apparent winner was not continuously registered to vote in their district from the filing of candidacy through the transmission of results.

If the Commission on State Mandates determines this bill creates state-mandated costs for local agencies, reimbursement shall be made pursuant to existing state mandate procedures.
